In Remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the campaign called “Volunteer for making Cremation Flowers for H.M. the Late King” was organized by most government and private sectors all over the country.
Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees (COERR) in coordination with government and non - government organizations including refugee committee in Ban Nupho camp joined together in the Program “Flowers for His Majesty the Late King” in order to pay tribute to H.M. the late King Rama 9. The Program started from July 18 to August 8, 2017. During that time, preparation of trainers and material was done on October 8. Then COERR Mae Sot cooperated with government authorities and Nupo refugee camp committee, to have children and youth volunteers to learn how to make the cremation flowers. When all coordination and preparation of trainers and material was done. On August 8, refugees, numbering 99, comprising 61 female and 38 male, came and joined together to learn how to make flowers and then they started to make their own cremation flowers.
These cremation flowers, made by refugees, like those made by Thais all over the nation, were placed before the late monarch in each province during the royal cremation ceremony on October 26, 2017. The flower laying ceremony started from 09.00 hours. The actual royal cremation ceremony organized at Sanam Luang in Bangkok at 22.00 hours.
24 royal families and 18 distinguished representatives from all over the world attended the Royal Cremation for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 26 October 2017.
